Millersville University’s season came to an end in the first round of the NCAA Division II Tournament as No. 16 West Liberty pulled away in the second half, turning a one-point halftime lead into a 100-78 win Friday at Gannon University in Erie.
Millersville (24-7) faded in the final 20 minutes against West Liberty’s (26-6) relenting full-court press, and that coincided with the Hilltoppers’ shots starting to fall.
West Liberty, the region’s No. 4 seed, outscored the Marauders 58-37 in the second half, shooting 60% from the field.
Jahme Ested led Millersville with 17 points. Matt Dade had 15 and Day Waters 13.
