The owners of Pour Man’s Brewing Co. announced their purchase Tuesday for an undisclosed price of fellow Ephrata Borough brewery St. Boniface Craft Brewing Co.
Pour Man’s Brewing Co. will continue to operate the 1701 W. Main St. taproom and brewery as St. Boniface Craft Brewing Co., maintaining its lineup of beers while adding some varieties previously made at the brewery, according to a post on Pour Man’s Facebook page that announced the sale.
“One of our biggest goals at Pour Man’s, outside of providing great beer and service, has always been to grow deep roots in our community. That’s why when the opportunity came for us to purchase St. Boniface Craft Brewery we jumped right in,” the post said.
“We feel the two places offer a different enough product to both be successful. By combining our brewing/wholesale productions we can reduce overhead and be a more efficient business,” Pour Man’s Facebook post said.
The sale includes the St. Boniface taproom and production facility, which has a canning line. The property sold for $900,000, according to county property records.
The sale does not include Tied House, a Lititz restaurant the owners of St. Boniface opened in August 2020 at 27-31 E. Main St. That restaurant will continue to serve St. Boniface beer and operate under Michael Price and Jonathan Northup, the previous owners of St. Boniface who helped open Tied House, Price said.
In early 2011, Price and Northup began St. Boniface in an Ephrata Borough warehouse that had been part of the former Donecker's Artworks complex. They moved in 2013 to the spot along Route 322 on the western edge of the borough.
Price declined to comment on the reason for the sale to Pour Man’s Brewing, adding that Tied House is also for sale. Price and Northup are not remaining with the company under the new owners.
Pour Man’s Brewing originally opened in 2018 at 284 S. Reading Road in Ephrata Borough in a space that included a production area and a small taproom. In June 2023, the owners opened Pour Man’s Bier & Hoagie Haus in the former Sprecher’s Hardware building in downtown Ephrata, closing the original taproom at what became a larger production area.
Pour Man’s Brewing Co. is owned by Ryan Foltz, Sam Son and James Stauffer, who are backed by some investors.
