Yah Brew, a 90s-themed brewery, is slated to open by the end of May in Mount Joy Borough.

The new brewery at 20-22 E. Main St. will open with Hulk Hoagies, a hoagie shop that will operate together with the Yah Brew taproom.

Yah Brew is owned by Justin and Aimee Hoak, who opened a Yah Brew location a year ago in Hershey, taking the former location of Tattered Flag Distillery and Bar. They moved their brewing operation to Mount Joy earlier this year in the space where they are now planning a new taproom.

Justin Hoak, who previously was a head brewer at Tattered Flag, also worked at the former JoBoy’s Pub in Manheim Borough and at Lancaster city-based Spring House Brewing Co.

Hoak says Yah Brew features a variety of styles but specializes in fruitier and sweeter beers. Among the offerings are Hazed by the Bell, a hazy IPA; Callahan Kolsch, a German-style Kolsch beer; and Orange Sherbet Push Pot, a sour ale with orange sherbet and vanilla.

Yah Brew will have inside seating for around 50 as well as space for about 30 on a patio.
