Thirty-five interactive, electronic kiosks have been stationed throughout Lancaster County to help students and job seekers learn about job openings, career pathways and training programs, the Lancaster County Workforce Development Board said.

The kiosks were placed at 27 public and private high schools, community servicing locations, public libraries, and the PA CareerLink of Lancaster County at 1046 Manheim Pike  in Manheim Township.

Using the kiosk, job seekers and students will be able to:

  • Use a career assessment tool to help users identify their interests and skills

  • Access Information about in-demand jobs and industries in Lancaster County

  • Search a directory of training programs and educational institutions

  • Search a job board with listings for open positions

  • Connect to the Inspire platform, where students and businesses engage in career exploration opportunities.

The workforce development board is partnering with the Lancaster Chamber to unveil the kiosks Tuesday at CareerLink. The organizers will be at Conestoga Valley High School on Wednesday and Lancaster Public Library and McCaskey High School on Thursday.

“We are excited to launch this new initiative to help Lancaster County residents connect with the resources they need to succeed in the workforce,” said Mary Byrd, the workforce board’s youth programs coordinator. “The educational kiosks will provide students and job seekers with easy access to information about career pathways, training programs, and job opportunities.”

The workforce development board will also provide training to school staff and community partners on how to use the kiosks. The goal is to make the kiosks a valuable resource for all Lancaster County residents who are seeking information about career and workforce development opportunities.

The content on the kiosk can be explored via a QR code that is on every page and will be accessible through the Career Ready Lancaster! www.careerreadylancater.com website, so individuals can access the information from other sources.

If your company or organization would like to be included on the kiosk, contact Byrd at  mbyrd@lancastercountywib.com.
