In case anyone forgot in the middle of a cold, snowy winter, MAX Field Hockey put out a reminder on Tuesday that Lancaster-Lebanon League Section One had an amazing season in field hockey this past fall.

Four players from L-L Section One teams were named to MAX’s High School All-Region Team for Pennsylvania.

Receiving first team honors were Manheim Township senior Brenna Campagna and Penn Manor senior Tristan Groff. Manheim Township junior Brooke Weaver and Warwick junior Addy Zimmerman were named to the second team.

Campagna was listed as a defender, but you wouldn’t know it from the 19 goals and 15 assists she tallied as the Blue Streaks won their first ever L-L and District Three Class 3A titles. MAX had her listed as a preseason player to watch, and Campagna lived up to expectations, being named an L-L Section One All-Star, a Pennsylvania High School Field Hockey Coaches Association Class 3A first-teamer and a National Field Hockey Coaches Association Third-Team All-American. Campagna will play field hockey at Wake Forest next fall.

Weaver will still be playing in Neffsville in the fall, but she is a Penn State recruit. The midfielder’s 15 goals and 25 assists indicate that the Nittany Lions were wise to recruit her. Like Campagna, Weaver was an L-L Section One All-Star and a PHSFHCA Class 3A first-team member.

While patrolling the midfield for the Comets, Groff helped Penn Manor reach the District Three Class 3A semifinals and the PIAA quarterfinals. Groff was also an L-L Section One All-Star, PHSFHCA Class 3A first-teamer and NFHCA All-Pennsylvania Region First Team member. Groff will be at Saint Joseph’s next season.

Zimmerman, a midfielder for the state semifinalist Warriors, is uncommitted for college. She was an L-L Section One All-Star and an NFHCA All-Pennsylvania Region Second Team selection.

Like New Jersey, Pennsylvania constitutes its own region for MAX. The other four regions are a combination of states.

Ten of the 30 first-team members were from District Three schools, as well as 11 of the 30 second-team members.

Also on the first-team list were Autum Kernechel and Melea Weber of Emmaus, the team that defeated Manheim Township 1-0 in the PIAA championship game. Kernechel is an Ohio State recruit, while Weber will be headed to North Carolina.
