Police have identified and located the driver who they suspect struck and killed a teenager in a hit and run Thursday night in Penn Township, but they have not said whether they intend to charge the driver.

A 16-year-old boy from Rapho Township, whom Northern Lancaster County Regional police have not identified, was working along Sun Hill Road, just south of Manheim Borough, when he was hit by a passing vehicle. The vehicle left the scene before police arrived around 9:30 p.m.

The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office has not responded to requests for more information, including the cause of death and the victim’s identity.

Police said nothing about the identity of the suspected driver, only that they know who and where the driver is. They have not said whether they intend to charge the driver, only that they will release more information “as appropriate.”

Police are asking anyone with information about the hit and run to call Corporal Alex Good at 717-733-0965 or Lancaster County Crime Stoppers at 800-322-1913, or submit a tip on their CrimeWatch webpage.
