Manheim Township's Andrew Bilson to play D1 college golf at Rider

Manheim Township golfer Andrew Bilson has accepted a scholarship offer to play college golf at Rider University, he confirmed Monday.

Bilson, a senior, tied for 10th in the Class AAA PIAA tournament last month at Penn State University. He also tied for ninth in the District Three tournament.

He drew the attention of college coaches with his play in junior golf, including qualifying for the PGA National Junior and the Notah Begay Junior National Championship, winning the 2022 Lancaster County Junior Golf Tour Championship with a 68 at Lancaster Country Club, and winning a Hurricane Junior Golf Tour event in Ambler this spring.

Rider is in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Its men’s golf team won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship in 2022. The coach, Jason Barry, has three times been named among America’s best young teachers by Golf Digest magazine. Of the Broncs’ seven current players, four are seniors or graduate students.
