MCMURRAY — The AHN Arena at Peters Township High School may not be the Giant Center, but it can get as raucous, especially during the Pittsburgh Wrestling Classic, which was held there Saturday.

HERSHEY — Two years ago, PIAA Executive Director Dr. Robert Lombardi stopped at Central Dauphin High School following the PIAA Wrestling Championships, then for boys only, in Hershey.

Here are this season’s Lancaster-Lebanon League wrestling honors, as chosen by the league’s coaches and announced in conjunction with Monday night’s annual awards banquet.

HERSHEY — Win or lose, there was one thing, other than a medal, that McCaskey’s Journie Rodriguez really wanted when she was at Giant Center.

HERSHEY — Overwhelmed with emotion as she sat in the tunnel area of the Giant Center, McCaskey’s Journie Rodriguez got teary-eyed.

HERSHEY — Aaron Seidel is headed back to the finals of the PIAA Class 2A boys wrestling championships.

HERSHEY — Friday was day two of the PIAA Class 3A boys wrestling championships. For eight Lancaster-Lebanon League wrestlers, it was day one of the redemption tour.

HERSHEY — Kylee Trostle danced like a ballerina and did some spins as she left the mat in the Giant Center. Isabella Baccio? Her smile could have lit up Dauphin County as her hand was raised.

HERSHEY — To say it was an unprecedented first day for Lancaster-Lebanon League wrestlers at Thursday’s PIAA Class 3A boys championships would be an understatement.
